Alden C. Coder became the third MSC Coach to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. The versatile Coder, who coached basketball, football and track, and also served as athletic director, came to Montclair State in 1946. His football teams compiled a 29-37 record, including an undefeated season in 1947. Coder, with a record of 106-38, is the winningest basketball coach by percentage in Indian history. His 1949-50 squad set a school record of 16 straight wins. His teams captured four conference titles in seven years. Coder, a past president of the Montclair Kiwanis Club and faculty sponsor of the campus chapter of Phi Epsilon Kappa, has been action in College and Community affairs.
