One of the finest football players to wear the scarlet and white, DePalma played four years of varsity football and won a host of individual honors. He was a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics First-Team All-American center in 1964 and 1965 and in 1965 was a Little All-American Second-Team selection. During his athletic career he won seven varsity letters. DePalma played three years of varsity baseball for Bill Dioguardi winning All-Conference honors in his freshman season.
