A legend among soccer athletes at Montclair State, Allen Czaya received almost every soccer award possible. As a freshman he was named Best Defensive Player of the New Jersey State College Athletic Conference, which was unprecedented for underclassmen, let alone a freshman. This was only the beginning for Czaya as he was also named to his first of four All-Conference teams. In 1966, he received the Montclair State College Most Valuable Soccer Award. In his final season, Czaya was named the Most Valuable Player of the New Jersey State College Athletic Conference. Czaya also served three years as team captain. With his great athletic ability and leadership skills, he led Montclair as it captured the 1968 New Jersey State College Athletic Conference Championship. The team went on to be the first in Montclair State men’s soccer history to compete in the NCAA Tournament, where it earned second place in the Atlantic Coast Region.
