One of the best third baseman to play baseball at Montclair State, Frank Petite finished his fine career at Montclair State in 1976. A teammate of Peter Horn’s, the Belleville native was a First-Team NCAA All-American selection at his position along with being selected to the New Jersey State Conference team and All-State in 1976. Playing for Clary Anderson, Petite enjoyed two World Series appearances and on his way in both regional tournaments, he was named the Most Valuable Player. Owning a career batting average of well over .360, Petite also dabbled in some pitching striking out 13 in four appearances. He also registered 28 doubles in his career.
