Montclair State University Athletics

Gera has been associated with Montclair State for 26 years, including the last two decades in her current position. An alumna of Montclair State, she began her career as the Director of Campus Recreation in 1989 and the following year was promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics. She was named the Director of Athletics in 1996. During her tenure, Gera has been responsible for many positive developments for the Red Hawks including the construction of MSU Soccer Park and the MSU Softball Stadium in addition to major renovations to both Sprague Field and the Panzer Athletic Center. Gera has served as the President and Past President of the National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators and was a member of the NCAA Division III Championships Committee from 2011 to 2015. Gera has been honored by several organizations including being named the Division III Southeast Region General Sports TURF AD of the Year by the National Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) in June 2006 and was the recipient of the Jostens Female Administrator of the Year award from the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) in 2004.
