The winner of seven varsity letters in football, basketball and baseball, Jim Carovillano’s biggest moment at Montclair State came on November 14, 1964 before 9,830 fans at Clifton High School Stadoium where he led the Indians to its second undefeated football season (7-0). He was only a sophomore at the time. In baseball, Carovillano was an outstanding catcher for Coach Bill Dioguardi hitting .315, .247 and .292. In 1966 he was a key to the Indians outstanding 20-4 campaign.
