Joseph Urban starred for the MSC baseball team from 1947-1949. The leftfielder had a lifetime batting average over .450 including a .425 clip in 1949 earning him a batting title and team Most Valuable Player honors. Included in his 1949 laurels were team-leading totals in hits with 25 and doubles. Urban was known as a lead on and off the field. He was one of the few players at the time to play baseball all year around.
