In his three years of varsity play for Montclair State Moses Lajterman broke or tied virtually every placekicking record at the school. In 1972 he broke the string for consecutive extra points without a miss, as well as tying the record for most field goals in one game. These records assisted in his winning the 1972 Golden Toe Award, as well as being named “Athlete of the Week” after kicking three field goals in one game, and earning All-Conference status for the year. The following year, Lajterman added two more records to his placekicking list of honors as well as earning a respectable 39.3 punting average. Once again, he was named All-Conference and was selected outstanding kicker by the ECAC, All-East Division III and was chosen for the All-East Team by the New York Times.
