Balderston was a standout track performer at MSC from 1955-59. He established records for most points in one track meet (28) against East Stroudsburg in 1959 as well as setting records at the Collegiate Track Conference (CTC) Meet in the javelin in 1958 and the 60-yard high hurdles in 1959. An outstanding overall athletes, Balderston held MSC records in the javelin, 60-yard hurldes, 120-yard high and low hurdles. He places second in the javelin at the Penn Relays in 1958. Along with his track exploits, Balderston played soccer in his senior year, earning All-Eastern Collegiate honors.
