Sharon Ormsbee was a two-time First-Team All-America selection as she led Montclair State to the best finish in program history. The lefty led the Red Hawks to a runner-up finish at the 1997 NCAA Division III Softball Championship as she collected the second of her All-America honors. Ormsbee went 58-16 in her four years finishing third all-time wins while also posting the second-highest career strikeout total with 363. Named the NJAC Pitcher of the Year in 1997, Ormsbee also led Montclair State to its second conference championship. She went 23-7 with a 1.61 earned run average that season and struck out a school-record 190 batters. Ormsbee earned two First-Team All-Region honors by the National Softball Coaches Association (NSCA) and also threw the 11th no-hitter in Montclair State history during her freshman season of 1995 when she blanked St. Norbert, 6-0. In addition to finishing second all-time in strikeouts and third in victories, Ormsbee ranked in the Top 5 all time in complete games (50) and shutouts (13) while also boasting the sixth-best earned run average (2.02).
