Mizzone was a standout cross country, indoor track, outdoor track performer from 1968-72. He captinaed the only undefeated cross country team at MSC in 1971, as well as being crowned Collegiate Track Conference champions and breaking the MSC record at Garret Mountain with a time of 24:21. In 1970 Mizzone was a NJ AAU Senior Cross Country Champion. His indoor track laurels include setting MSC records in the mile (4:13), two mile (9:05) and three mile (14:16). He also took first place in the two mile at the Collegiate Track Conference Meet, and the three mile at the NJ AAU Indoor Track Championships. Outdoors, Mizzone set the MSC record in the three mile (13:58), two mile (9:12) and 5000 meters (14:31). H was named to the All-IC4A Cross Country Team, was Ouststanding Performer in the 1971 Coast Guard Invitational Track Meet, and was All-Conference in cross country three years and track three years.
