Papa was named the NJAC Pitcher of the Week as he helped Montclair State get off on the right foot in the Snowbird Classic in Florida scattering seven hits and striking out eight in a 2-0 complete-game win over two-time defending champion and No. 3 Marietta. Papa improved to 2-0 on the year as he recorded a shutout in his second straight start and first since April 14 last year when he recorded a five-hitter in a 3-0 win at Rowan. Papa missed the remainder of the year due to appendicitis. He threw 4 1/3 innings allowing two unearned runs in the Red Hawks' season opener at Washington College (MD) on March 1-2. Papa is currently tied for the league lead in ERA and wins and is 10th in strikeouts with 10.
