Stein scored 21 points individually as Montclair State nearly pulled off an upset of perennial NJAC power The College of New Jersey last Friday evening. Montclair led the Lions by a point heading into the final event before falling by 119-111. Stein won both the 500 and 1000 freestyle events, setting a new school record in the latter. She posted a time of 11:05.56 in the 1000 freestyle breaking the previous standard of 11:08.52 set by Galina Loutchouk against Rowan in 2008. Stein would later add a victory in the 500 freestyle clocking in at 5:29.66. She also placed third in the 100 butterfly. The following day she helped the Red Hawk women's team to a fourth-place finish at the Union College Relays.
