Stein set three new school records helping the Montclair State women's swimming and diving team to a fifth-place finish overall and second-place showing among Division III teams at the Metropolitan Conference Championships over the weekend. Stein, who is named MSU Athlete of the Week for the second time this year, set three of the six new school records established by the women. Stein broke her own record in the 500 freestyle finishing eighth in the event. The sophomore posted a time of 5:15.61, smashing her previous standard of 51:21.29 set that same meet nearly one year ago (February 15, 2013). Stein then established new standards in both the 1650 freestyle and 1000 freestyle during the same event on Sunday. She swam 10:51.00 for the first 1000 yards breaking her own record for that event by 14 seconds set during the the Red Hawks meet versus TCNJ in November. Stein would go on to place fourth overall for the 1650 freestyle totaling a time of 18:04.22, smashing her record of 18:14.77 set during the Golden Bear Invitational at Kutztown University also in November.
