Barreira had a solid day for the Red Hawks at the Wesleyan Invitational II on Saturday. He competed in four events and picked up two first-place finishes. Barreira won the 800 meters in a time of 2:01.26 and later ran the third leg of the winning 4x800 team that posted a time of 8:23.86. He was fourth in the 60 hurdles (8.87 seconds) and also ran in the 4x400 relay team helping MSU's second entry to a fifth-place finish.
