French helped account for 217 of MSU's 749 points as the Red Hawks finished fourth overall and second among Division III schools at the Metropolitan Championships over the weekend. French won the 100 breaststroke event with a time of 1:05.77 in the finals after going 1:05.61 in the prelims. She then placed third in the 200 breaststroke with an NCAA "B" cut qualifying time of 2:23.94 after posting a B cut and school-record time of 2:23.42 in the prelims. French finished eighth in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:13.35 and swam the second leg of the 200 freestyle relay that was seventh at 1:41.37. French swam the leadoff leg of the 400 freestyle relay that was seventh (3:43.57) and the anchor of the 200 medley relay that was eighth at 1:53.01.
