Powers had an outstanding day helping Montclair State to sweep of Hunter in the Red Hawks' home opener on Saturday. She was 6-for-7 with four runs scored, six RBI and three extra-base hits in the two games. Powers, who also picked up the win in Game 1, was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI as Montclair defeated the Hawks 7-4. She then was 3-for-4 with three runs scored, a double, home run and four RBI lifting MSU to the sweep with a 9-3 win. Powers belted a two-run home run to give the Red Hawks the lead and then added two more RBI in the sixth. Powers had a slugging percentage of 1.571 on the day and reached base in seven of her eight plate appearances (one walk). Powers currently ranks second in the NJAC in RBI (15) and is third in hitting (.477), seventh in slugging (.682), sixth in on-base percentage (.500) and eighth in total bases (30).
