Norton was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week following a solid opening day for the Red Hawks as Montclair State slugged its way to a pair of wins over Scranton and Misericordia. Norton went 6-for-9 at the plate with six runs scored, four extra-base hits and five RBI. He slugged 1.444 in the two games and had an on-base percentage of .750. Norton was 3-for-4 with two runs scored, a double, triple and RBI from his leadoff spot as MSU posted a 16-8 win over Scranton. Norton sparked an 11-run fourth inning for MSU with a leadoff triple and later adding a second hit during the scoring barrage. He then went 3-for-5 with four runs, a double, four RBI and his first career homer in a 16-8 win against Misericordia. Norton, who had an OPS of 2.194 for the day, also successfully handled all six chances he had in the field.
