Tancer helped the men's indoor track and field team finish fifth at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships with a pair of Top 10 finishes. He captured his first individual championship winning the shot put with a winning toss nearly one-meter further than the second-place finisher. Tancer had a best distance of 15.45 meters. He then placed eighth in the weight throw with a toss of 12.01 meters.
