Batista, named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week, had a tremendous week totaling eight points on three goals and two assists helping the Red Hawks post a pair of wins over CUNYAC foes Hunter and Staten Island to improve to 4-0 on the season. He had two goals, including what turned out to be the game-winning goal in a 6-1 road win at Hunter College on Wednesday. Batista then had a goal and two assists in the first half as MSU rolled to a 7-0 win over Staten Island. Batista currently leads the team in scoring with four goals, three assists and 11 points four games into his freshman campaign. He is ranked second in the NJAC in points scored, tied for second in goals and tied for the league lead in assists.
