Scoppa carried the Red Hawks to their first victory of the season as Montclair State blanked Morrisville State, 7-0 at home on Saturday. The junior carried 34 times for 169 yards, both career highs and scored the lone touchdown in the game. Scoppa averaged 5.0 yards per carry in the game and accounted for 37 of the Red Hawks’ 63 yards on its scoring drive finishing it off with a six-yard run for his second touchdown of the season. Scoppa, who passed the 1,000-yard mark for his career, currently leads the New Jersey Athletic Conference with 362 yards, an average of 120.7 yards per contest.
