Scoppa claims MSU Athlete of the Week honors for a second consecutive week after helping the Red Hawks even their record at 2-2 with a 34-17 victory at William Paterson on Saturday. Scoppa, named the NJAC Offensive Player of the Week, averaged 8.2 yards per carry while helping MSU improve to 2-0 in conference with the win over its local rival. He rushed 30 times for a career-high 247 yards, including four touchdown runs of 1, 1, 15, and 31 yards apiece. His performance, which included over 100 yards on the ground in the third quarter alone, represented the most rushing yards in a game by a Red Hawk ballcarrier since Eugene Vick's 249 yards against Kean in October 2003. Scoppa currently leads the NJAC in rushing (152.2 per game).
