Upper Montclair, NJ – Driving 62 yards on eight plays in the fourth period, Montclair State extended its two-year winning streak in football to seven games here a Sprague Field on Saturday evening before 5,828 fans, downing Delaware State, 10-7.
The Indians winning touchdown came on a 15-yard pass from quarterback
RON GARA to halfback Glen Morchauser. The former Paramus high school star made a sensational over-the-head catch on the Delaware State eight-yard line and then feinted two Hornet defenders n his way to the end zone.

The Indians other points came on a first-period field goal of 29 yards by Brewster.
Along with Morchauser and Brewster, the MSC defensive unit were keys to the important victory. Delaware State gained only 59 yards on the ground against the Indians' strong defense. In the air, the Hornets got 146 yards on 11 completions in 23 attempts.
Delaware State got its only TD in the third period when halfback Steven Davis took a quick pitch and raced 21 yards for a score. Dwight Boney converted.
Montclair State is now 2-0 this year while Delaware State is 1-1 after having beaten Lock Haven State
