Upper Montclair, NJ - The Montclair State men's and women's swimming and diving teams opened their 2001-02 season with losses to The College of New Jersey at Panzer Pool on Sunday afternoon.

The women's team dropped a 124-85 decision while the men's squad lost 116-68.

EDDIE FERNANDEZ (Jersey City, NJ/St. Joseph's) was the lone winner in the meet for the Red Hawk men. Fernandez captured the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:39.15.

Junior REGINA POTOCNIE (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) was the only first place finisher on the women's side as she captured the 200 freestyle in a time of 2:06.59.
