Upper Montclair, NJ(10/06/01) -- The Montclair State University men's soccer team snapped a four-game winless streak today with a 2-0 triumph over Kings Point University (U.S. Merchant Marine Academy) at MSU Soccer Park at Pittser Field. The Red Hawks improve to 4-7-1 overall this season.

The game was scoreless until MSU freshman forward LEO CARABALLO (Totowa, NJ/Don Bosco Prep) tallied his first career goal off an assist from senior back Jeff Holmes (Brick, NJ/Brick Memorial) at 63:37. MSU freshman midfielder MATT CASWELL (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway) then converted on a direct kick at 75:00 to seal the victory.

Red Hawk senior goalkeeper ALEX LUNA (Newark, NJ/Hudson Catholic) made seven saves in recording his first shutout of the season and the 21st of his collegiate career as the Mariners outshot Montclair, 16-7.The Red Hawks close out a three-game homestand against Cooper Union College on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 4:00 p.m. at Pittser Field.
