Garden City, NY - as the Montclair State men's and women's swimming and diving teams swept Adelphi University on Tuesday evening. The women's team posted a 54-42 victory while the men's squad recorded a 54-41 triumph.
REGINA POTOCNIE (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall),
COLLEEN GRIFFIN (Bloomfield, NJ/Lacodaire Academy) and
DIANA GIL (Landing, NJ/Roxbury) each won a pair of races. Potocnie captured the 200 freestyle (2:08.73) and 100 backstroke (1:08.98) while Griffin won the 50 freestyle (26.48) and anchored the 200 medley relay team. Gil took first place in the 100 butterfly (1:12.00) and was also a member of the 200 medley quartet.
On the men's side
SHANE SCHWARZ (Monmouth Beach, NJ/Shore Regional) was a triple-winner as he won the 200 individual medley (2:17.76), 100 butterlfy (1:07.33) and anchored the 200 freestyle relay team (1:40.59).
JASON MARTINELLI (West New York, NJ/St. Joseph's) and
EDDIE FERNANDEZ (Jersey City, NJ/St. Joseph's) each posted wins in the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke, respectively.
