St. Davids, PA (4/6/02) - Senior midfielder DONNA RUSSO (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) scored with 30 seconds remaining as Montclair State edged Eastern College (PA), 14-13 in NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse action at Eastern College on Saturday afternoon.

JODI GANGEMI (Fairfield, NJ/West Essex) scored eight goals for Montclair State, which evened its record at 3-3 on the season. CATHY HOMIEK (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East) had a goal and a single-game record seven assists for the Red Hawks. Homiek broke her own single-game record of six set against Cedar Crest on March 15.

Montclair jumped out to a 6-1 lead as Gangemi scored three times and KRISTEN MISKEY (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape) scored twice. The Red Hawks would lead 9-7 at halftime, but Eastern came back in the second half behind ANDREA COLLESIDIS, who set the NCAA Division III record for career goals with 279 goals. Collesidis broke the mark of 278 set by Julie Noyes of Swarthmore College.

Collesidis goal with six minutes remaining gave Eastern its first lead, but Montclair quickly re-tied the game at 13-13 just over two minutes later as Gangemi notched her eighth of the contest.

MSU's DIANA GIL (Landing, NJ/Roxbury) made 10 saves in goal for the Red Hawks.
