BEN MARTINEZ (Scotch Plains, NJ/S.P.-Fanwood) scored a game high 16 points as the Red Hawks got back on the winning track by defeating the Cougars of Kean University, 75-56 Saturday afternoon in New Jersey Athletic Conference action.
Junior
JEROME TRAWICK (Newark, NJ/Clifford Scott) posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds for MSU (13-1, 7-1). Kean University (8-6, 4-4) senior Ralph Lora (Perth Amboy, NJ) scored a game high 21 points for the Cougars while also surpassing the 1,000 point mark in his collegiate career.
The Red Hawks built a six point halftime lead, 34-28, thanks to a balanced scoring attack led by Trawick with seven points and seven rebounds.
In the second half, MSU went on a 12-3 run to build a 19 point lead, with 6:44 remaining.
