DYETTE DILLARD (Willingboro, NJ/Willingboro) scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds as Montclair State topped Rutgers-Newark, 73-50 in New Jersey Athletic Conference Women's Basketball action at Panzer Gymnasium on Wednesday evening.

EBONY ALLEN (Camden, NJ/Woodrow Wilson) added 13 points and seven rebounds for the Red Hawks (9-7, 5-6 NJAC), who swept the season series with the Scarlet Raiders (4-12, 0-11 NJAC). MSU won the first meeting, 58-41 in Newark back on November 26th as Allen scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Sophomore Ginger Quinonez (East Newark, NJ/Harrison) led all scorers with 23 points while also pulling down a game-high 13 rebounds.
In the first half Allen and Dillard each scored seven points as Montclair State took a 30-20 halftime lead. Tied at 16-16, the Red Hawks scored the next nine points as Allen scored on a three-point play and Dillard added a layup for a 21-16 lead with 6:13 left in the half.
STEPHANIE CROLEY (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway) scored on a layup for a seven-point advantage before Allen capped off the run with a pair of free throws to make the score 25-16 with 4:34 remaining. Quinonez had 10 points for Rutgers-Newark, however, the Scarlet Raiders shot just 7-of-26 (27 percent) from the field. Meanwhile, MSU, which had a 28-18 rebounding advantage in the first 20 minutes, was not much better making just 32 percent (12-of-38) of their attempts.
Rutgers-Newark would pull within 40-34 in the second half as Nicole Torres (Fairview, NJ/Cliffside Park) scored on a layup. However, the Red Hawks scored the next seven points to put the game away.

SHIRAH ODEH (Pompton Lakes, NJ/Pompton Lakes) sank a three-pointer with 10:33 left to make the score 47-34.
Shakima Thomas (Newark, NJ/University) had 11 points for Rutgers-Newark, which was outrebounded in the game, 59-42, including 30-15 on the offensive glass. Mullaney had 10 rebounds for MSU while Croley grabbed nine.
