KRISTEN POTENZONE (Totowa, NJ/DePaul) scored a season high 23 points, including 6 three-pointers, in a losing effort as the Profs of Rowan University defeated Montclair State, 87-73 in New Jersey Athletic Conference Women's Basketball action in Glassboro, NJ Saturday afternoon.
Center Stephanie Finke scored 21 points, including 9 of 10 from the charity stripe, and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Profs (6-10, 9-14 NJAC). Jaime McCormack added 18 points for Rowan, who won for the first time in three meetings this season.
Senior center
JASMINE BATTS (Carteret, NJ/Carteret) had 12 points and eight rebounds for Montclair State (12-10, 7-9 NJAC).
EBONY ALLEN (Camden, NJ/Woodrow Wilson) also added 12 points for the Red Hawks. MSU has dropped three straight following a four-game winning streak.
McCormack had 14 first half points as the Profs grabbed a 48-29 advantage into halftime. During the first half, Rowan used a 20-3 run, while using three and a half minutes off the clock, to take their largest lead of the first half and the game with 22 points.
Montclair State heads back into action as they take on rival William Paterson on Wednesday evening at 6:00 pm at panzer Gymnasium.
