Poughkeepsie, NY (01/28/04) - The Montclair State University men's swimming & diving team defeated host Vassar College tonight, 133-99, at Kresge Pool. The Red Hawk men (3-5 overall) have now won two of their last three meets.

SCOTT MONTGOMERY (Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) finished second in the 100-yard backstroke by just 0.18 of a second with a time of 56.83 seconds. He won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:09.09 minutes and also helped MSU claim the 200-yard medley relay (1:45.70). Also winning events for MSU were senior

MOHAMED ABDELAAL (Bayonne, NJ/Bayonne) in the 100-yard freestyle (51.48). Sophomore Drew Decagna (Springfield, NJ/Jonathan Dayton) took the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.20).
MSU will now host Drew University on Thursday, Jan. 29, at 5:30 p.m. at Panzer Pool in a men's & women's dual meet.
