Kutztown, PA (10/29/04) – The Montclair State men's and women's swimming and diving teams dropped a dual meet to Kutztown University on Friday evening. The Red Hawk men (1-2) fell, 117-88 while the women's team (0-3) suffered a 108-80 loss.
On the women's side,
ADRIENNE RICHARDI was a individual double-winner for the Red Hawks as she won the 1000 freestyle (12:16.60) and later led a 1-2 MSU finish in the 200 backstroke (2:26.82). Carly Orpurt placed second in the event.
RACHEL YANNUZZI was victorious in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:46.76.
The 400 freestyle relay team of Richardi,
LINDSEY NEWMAN,
DIANA GIL and
KRISTINE BATES took top honors with a time of 3:58.24
For the men, sophomore
MOHAMED ABDELAAL captured the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.54 with
JAMES SHEERIN winning the 100 freestyle (50.79) and
RICKY MILLER placing first in the 200 freestyle (1:49.50).
SCOTT MONTGOMERY won the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:04.70 and then helped the 400 medley relay team to a win with a time of 3:42.81. He was joined on the relay by
DREW DECAGNA,
SHANE SCHWARZ and Miller.
The Red Hawks return to action on Saturday, November 6 as they travel to Newark, NJ to take on New Jersey Institute of Technology at 6:00 pm
