MICHAEL GLUCK scored a career-high 26 points and added a game-best 11 rebounds as Montclair State snapped its five-game losing streak with an 88-53 rout of City College of New York in the NJAC/CUNYAC Challenge on Saturday.

GIAN PAUL GONZALEZ added 22 points and seven rebounds as the Red Hawks (3-5) won for the first time since capturing the Steve Adubato One-on-One Classic on November 20-21.
Darryl France had 15 points and six rebounds for the Beavers (2-6).
Montclair State led the entire game taking control from the opening tap as
RASHAD BUTLER scored on a layup 11 seconds into the contest. Andrew Jarvis would the tie the game 30 seconds later off a missed shot, however, the Red Hawks scored the next eight points and never looked back.
Butler, who finished with 15 points, scored on a layup to start the run and after a basket by
OMAR COLON, added two more field goals to make the score 10-2 with 16:25 left before half. CCNY would cut the lead to 10-7 as France drained a three-point, but Montclair quickly restored the lead to double digits with a 14-0 run.
Gonzalez hit two free throws and Gluck scored seven straight to make the score 19-7. A three-pointer by Gonzalez pushed the lead to 15 points with Gluck capping off the run to give the Red Hawks a 24-7 lead with just over 10 minutes remaining in the half.
MSU led 43-24 at intermission.
Gluck shot 11-of-21 from the field, including 3-of-6 from behind the arc. Butler added seven rebounds and three assists while
JAMAL FORD added seven points and four rebounds off the bench.
The Red Hawks, who committed 32 turnovers in their previous game to Ramapo, made just 13 on the evening and took advantage of 18 CCNY miscues turning them into 28 points.
Montclair State will now be off until December 29 as they close out the calendar year hosting the Mountainside Hospital Holiday Tournament at Panzer Gymnasium. MSU will face another CUNYAC opponent - Medgar Evers - in the opening round at 7:00 pm.
Bethany Lutheran (MN) will face Westminster in the first game of the tournament at 5:00 pm. The tournament concludes on Thursday, December 30 with the consolation and championship games set for 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm, respectively.
