JENNIFER TANIS continued her hot scoring stretch as sixth-ranked Montclair State knocked off Ramapo College, 3-0, in the New Jersey Athletic Conference opener for both teams.
ERIN BALINT had the other goal for MSU, which improved to 5-0 overall with the victory. Ramapo, a first-year full NJAC member, fell to 2-2 this fall.

LISA SMICKLO. MSU senior Balint added an insurance goal for the Red Hawks at 15:00 from Smicklo to end the first half, at 2-0. Tanis gave Montclair the 3-0 edge at 38:27, on an unassisted play, to end the scoring.

ROBYN APICELLI blocked two shots in 70 minutes in earning her second shutout of the year for Montclair, while Katelyn Ferguson recorded 11 saves in a complete game for the host Roadrunners. Montclair out shot Ramapo, 17-2.
The Red Hawks conclude a five-game road trip at Eastern Connecticut State on Wednesday, Sept. 16.
