Montclair, NJ (09/20/04) - The Montclair State University men's soccer team improved to 6-0-1 this season with a 2-0 shutout of NCAA Division II opponent St. Thomas Aquinas (NY) College tonight at Sprague Field.
Montclair State has now won five consecutive contests, the last three by shutout, while Aquinas falls to 2-3 overall this year.

TODD TUMELTY then closed out the scoring with 59 seconds left in the first half, assisted by juniors

KYLE HUGHES.
Junior goalkeeper
CHRIS OWEN finished with four saves for the host Red Hawks, while sophomore netminder Sean McEnery finished with three stops for the visiting Spartans.
Both teams had 10 shots in all, while Aquinas held the edge in corner kicks, 6-3, and MSU led in fouls, 15-11.
The Red Hawks get back to New Jersey Athletic Conference action on Wednesday when they visit William Paterson University, while St. Thomas Aquinas hosts the College of St. Rose that same afternoon. MSU is currently 1-0 in NJAC play after topping the College of New Jersey, 3-0, in Montclair on Sept. 18.
