Jersey City , NJ (9/23/04) – The Montclair State University volleyball team took the first game, but saw host New Jersey City rally to tak the final three games as the Gothic Knights posted a 3-1 victory on Thursday evening.

MSU won the first game 30-25 with NJCU taking the last three by the scores - 30-14, 30-28 amd 30-23.

For the Gothic Knights, freshman middle blocker Lizzelle Cintron, collected a match-high 23 kills along with 24 digs, and three blocks. Fellow classmate and middle blocker Meagan Roberts ) also reached double digits in kills with 10 with setter Nadia DaSilva delivering 41 assists for a second consecutive match. DaSilva also registered 12 digs, Senior outside hitter Christina Cocucci had 19 digs and landed seven kills.

Sisters Tiffany and HEATHER ACIZ paced Montclair State with 11 kills apice while KELLY MCGUIRE had nine kills and four digs. Sophomore hitter ASIA LIVINGSTON chalked up eight kills along with four block solos while sophomore setter ELYSE GRYWALSKI recorded 22 assists and four digs for the Red Hawks.

MSU returns to action on Saturday, September 25 as they travel to Purchase, NY for a pair of matches. The Red Hawks will face host SUNY Purchase at 12:00 pm and will then take on John Jay College at 2:00 pm.
