MICHAEL GLUCK (right) went on a decisive one-man 8-0 run midway the second half and Montclair State held on for a 60-51 New Jersey Athletic Conference men's basketball win in The Golden Dome.
Gluck, who finished with a team-high 16 points sandwiched a pair of 3-point jumpers around a two-point field goal in the span of 1:50 to turn a 35-34 deficit into a 42-35 Red Hawk lead. Rutgers-Newark cut the lead to two twice in the final five minutes, but MSU never gave up the lead, hitting 10 of 12 free throws in the final 4:21. The only field goal in that span was a clutch 3-pointer by freshman forward

CLIFF SCHAFER netted eight points apiece in the balanced MSU attack.
Sophomore forward Jermont Horton paced the Raiders with 16 points and seven rebounds as Rutgers-Newark dominated the glass, 33-23. Senior guard Manny Rios and junior center Chinedu Ibeh netted 10 points apiece for the Raiders.
The Red Hawks won for the ninth time in their last 10 games to improve their record to 11-6 overall and 6-3 in the NJAC. Rutgers-Newark lost for the sixth time in its last nine games to fall to 10-7 overall and 3-5 in the league.
