Montclair, NJ (10/18/05) – Senior forward Megan Collins scored the lone goal as Moravian College edged Montclair State, 1-0, in NCAA Division III Women's Soccer action at Sprague Field on Tuesday evening.
Collins netted her 12th goal of the season as the Greyhounds improved to 12-3 overall and defeated the Red Hawks (5-8-2) for the second straight season. Moravian defeated MSU, 2-1 last year.
KRISTIN KUHMANN made three saves for Montclair State, which is 0-3-2 in its last five matches.
Collins broke the scoreless tie at the 21:21 mark. Alisha Davy delivered a pass to Kristina Adams, who one-touched a pass to Collins. Collins then drilled a shot from the right side past Kuhmann for the game-winner.
Catilin Corrigan made one stop as she recorded her sixth shutout of the season.
Moravian outshot Montclair State, 14-6.
The Red Hawks return to action on Thursday, October 20 as they host the Profs of Rowan University at MSU Soccer Park at 3:00 pm. Moravian is at Lebanon Valley College the same day for a 4:00 pm start.
