RYAN MORGAN netted a pair of goals and picked up an assist as Montclair State wrapped up a berth in the upcoming New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournament with a 5-0 victory over Rutgers-Newark in NJAC Men's Soccer action at Sprague Field on Tuesday evening.
BILL ANTHES also had two goals and an assist as the Red Hawks improved to 10-6-2 overall and finished 4-4-1 in the NJAC. Montclair will be the No. 6 seed when the conference tournament commences on Saturday, October 29. The rest of the field will be announced on Wednesday following the completion of the final day of league play.
Matt Johnson made 15 saves for Rutgers-Newark, which fell to 5-10-1 and completed its league slate at 0-9.

CHRIS OWEN did not have to make a save as he recorded his fourth shutout of the season and 21 st of his career, tying him with Alex Luna (1998-2001) for tops on the all-time list.
Montclair State dominated, outshooting the Scarlet Raiders, 27-2, however, it was Johnson who kept the game scoreless with several saves through the first 30 minutes. Despite the shot disadvantage Rutgers-Newark almost got the first goal as Joe Caamano's header toward the upper right corner went just high.
The Red Hawks would finally break through at the 34:43 mark as Anthes notched his 10th goal of the season. He then made the score 2-0 just under six minutes later off an assist from
SEAN HORAN.
In the second half MSU kept the pressure up with 17 shots and scored three times. Anthes took a shot that Johnson deflected. The ball then rolled over to Morgan who tapped in the rebound for his eighth goal of the season and first since September 21.
MIKE HOGAN would add his fourth at 68:52 before Morgan closed out the scoring with his second of the game 1:22 later.
