JESS AMENDOLA scored the winning goal with 6:28 left in the second overtime period to lift Montclair State to a 1-0 New Jersey Athletic Conference women soccer victory over Rutgers-Newark under the lights on Alumni Field.
MSU improved to 7-8-3 overall and finished 4-3-2 in the NJAC with its second straight victory.
Amendola took a chip on a restart kick from freshman forward
ANGELA MARTONE , got around the left side of charging Scarlet Raider keeper Ashley Woodruff and ran the ball into the left side of the goal in the 104th minute.
It was the second straight game in which Amendola netted the game winner in OT. She scored the game-winner in MSU's 3-2 triumph over Rutgers-Camden on Saturday.
Woodruff, who played in her final collegiate match, stopped a penalty kick by Amendola with 3:44 left in regulation and made a dozen saves on the evening as Rutgers-Newark finished its season at 5-12-1 overall and 1-8-0 in the NJAC.

KRISTIN KUHMANN made two saves to post her sixth shutout of the season. MSU held a 23-6 edge in shots on the muddy field.
Montclair State, now 7-8-3 overall and 4-2-3 in the NJAC, visits No. 4 seed Richard Stockton on Saturday in the opening round of the conference championship tournament. Earlier this season, the teams played to a 1-1 draw at Stockton on October 8 in a driving rainstorm. Last season, MSU downed the Opsreys in the semifinals in penalty kicks en route to capturing the conference title.
