Wilkes-Barre, PA (10/8/05) – The Montclair State volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on Saturday as the Red Hawks fell to Wilkes University and host King's College. The losses dropped MSU's record to 8-13.
In the loss to Wilkes, Montclair State won the first game, 30-28, however the Colonels rebounded to win the final three games, 30-28, 30-22, 30-23.
ZAIRY RAMOS had seven kills, seven aces and 16 digs for Montclair State while
HEATHER ACIZ added seven kills and eight digs.
SAMANTHA KARPINSKI and
JULIANA FERDINAND each added six kills while Melissa Cicaccio registered 22 assists.
RAQUEL PICHARDO recorded 10 digs with
JANIELLE SANCHEZ finished with 12 digs.
Karpinski and Ferdinand each had six kills against Kings's, however the Monarchs came away with the win, 30-9, 30-21, 30-17. Ciaccio had seven assists while Sanchez recorded 19 digs giving her 31 in the two matches.
The Red Hawks return to action on Thursday, October 13 as they travel to Union, NJ to face the Cougars of Kean University in an NJAC matchup at 7:00 pm.
