Garden City, NY (11/22/05) – The Montclair State men's and women's swimming and diving teams swept a dual meet from Adelphi University on Tuesday evening. The men's team won its third straight with a 54-41 triumph while the women posted their second consecutive win, 59-35.
KRISTINE BATES and
RICKY MILLER were triple-winners for the Red Hawks.
The MSU men won their third straight by a score of 54-41, improving to 3-1 on the season while the Red Hawk women's team moved back to the .500 mark (2-2) with their second consecutive triumph, 59-35.
Bates won the 50 and 100 freestyles with times of 26.71 and 57.99, respectively, before leading the 400 medley relay to victory. Bates was joine on the relay by

KIM CORREDOR as they registered a time of 3:37.93
ADRIENNE RICHARDI was a double winner in the lone distance frrestyles. Richardi captured the 500 free with a time of 5:48.88 and later won the 1000 as she posted a time of 12:05.17. Corredor took first in the 200 fly (2:28.48) and
KAITLIN MUCHLER was first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:05.45.
On the men's side, Miller won the 500 freestyle (5:08.86) and the 200 fly (2:14.00) before helping the 400 meldey relay team to victory. Miller,
JOHN ADAMS, Drew Decagna and
MOHAMED ABDELAAL swam a time of 3:45.55.
Adams would win the 200 IM with a time of 2:11.45 and Decagna added a victory in the 200 breaststroke (2:20.13).
RYAN GORSKY won the 1000 freestyle (10:44.91) and the 400 freestyle relay team of Abdelaal,
JEFF MCTERNEN,
MATT CAPPILLA and
MATT GUIDI were victorious with a time of 3:32.30.
The Red Hawks return to action on Saturday, December 3 as they begin a five-meet homestand to close out the calendar year. MSU will open the homestand against Baruch at 1:00 pm.
