Montclair, NJ (12/3/05) – The Montclair State men's and women's swimming and diving teams remained on their respective winning streaks as the Red Hawks swept a dual meet from Baruch College on Saturday afternoon at the Panzer Pool.
The MSU (4-1) men posted a 95-83 win over the Bearcats for their fourth straight win while the women's squad won their third consecutive meet and moved to 3-2 on the season with a 96-82 victory.
RICKY MILLER was a triple winner for the second straight meet as he won three individual events. Miller captured the 200 and 1000 freestyles in time of 1:52.62 and 11:14.27, respectively before completing his afternoon with a triumph in the 200 fly (2:22.00).
MATT GUIDI took first in the 50 freestyle (23.60) while
BRYANT EDWARDS won the required section of the diving competition and
STEVE WEHRLE earned first in the optionals portion.
MSU also won the 400 medley relay as
JOHN ADAMS,
JON KURTZ, Guidi and Drew Decagna posted a time of 3:59.61.
On the women's side,
KIM CORREDOR was a triple winner with wins in the 200 breaststroke (2:49.64) and 200 fly (2:24.32) before helping the 400 medley relay team to a win.
ADRIENNE RICHARDI, who took first in the 200 freestyle (2:10.96), Corredor,
TRACEY GROEL and
KRISTINE BATES combined for a winning time of 4:34.62.
JESSICA GUTH (2:27.28) was victorious in the 200 individual medley.
The Red Hawks return to action on Thursday, December 8 as they host their second Big East opponent at the Panzer Pool this season. MSU will face New Jersey rival Seton Hall University in a combined meet at 5:00 pm.
