Scranton, PA (5/14/05) - Sophomore midfielder Kelly Cassels scored a game-high five goals and junior attacker Kristen Foster and junior midfielder Eileen Keever added three apiece to lead Franklin & Marshall College to a 16-7 victory over Montclair State University in the semifinals of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Southern Region championships Saturday morning at Fitzpatrick Field on the campus of The University of Scranton.
The Diplomats, now 13-3 and ranked 8th nationally, also received two goals and an assist from sophomore midfielder Sloan Giampa, a goal and three assists from freshman attacker Catherine Onnen, a goal and two assists from sophomore midfielder Brianna Dolphin and a goal from freshman Ellie Lisle to move into Sunday's championship game against McDaniel, .

Behind two goals by Gillin and one by Brocklebank, Montclair jumped out to an early 3-2 lead before the Diplomats, behind two goals by Keefer, countered with a 5-2 spurt to take an 8-5 lead by intermission.
F&M scored five straight goals, including two by Foster, in the opening 11 minutes of the second half to break the game open. The Red Hawks did manage to cut the lead down to seven, 14-7, on goals by Gillin and LaRocca at the 47:12 and 48:11 marks, respectively, but the Diplomats answered the challenge with goals by Keefer, Onnen and Lisle in the final 10 minutes to set the final score.
