RAY CICCONE scored the final two goals in a four-goal second half as Montclair State earned its first New Jersey Athletic Conference victory with a 5-1 win over Kean University at MSU Soccer Park on Saturday afternoon.

BILL ANTHES each had a goal as the Red Hawks improved to 6-2-1 overall, 1-1-1 in the NJAC. Jorge Montesinos scored on a penalty kick for the Cougars (3-4-2, 0-3 NJAC), who have dropped three straight.
Tied at 1-1 at halftime, Privett scored his third of the season at the 63:47 mark off an assist from
RYAN MORGAN giving the Red Hawks the lead for good. Anthes followed exactly three minutes later with his fourth tally of the year as MSU built a two-goal advantage. Ciccone connected on his third of the season off the double assist from
MATT BEHEN and
ERIC PFEIFER at the 7:31 mark and later notched his second of the game, converting a pass from
KEVIN BURKHARDT for the final Red Hawk goal.
Montclair State jumped out to a 1-0 lead 10:41 into the match as Tumelty gathered a loose ball off a corner kick and knocked a shot past Ricky Hernandez for his second goal of the season. Montesinos would even the match at 35:25 on the penalty kick.
CHRIS OWEN need to make just one save to earn the victory in goal as Montclair State outshot Kean, 21-4 in the contest. Hernandez made eight saves for the Cougars.
The Red Hawks return to action on Wednesday, September 28 as they travel to Jersey City, NJ to face the Gothic Knights of New Jersey City at 4:00 pm. Kean will be at home on the same evening at 7:30 pm taking on Ramapo College.
