Wayne, NJ (1/21/06) – The Montclair State men's and women's swimming and diving teams had a combined five triple winners as the Red Hawks swept backyard rival William Paterson at the Wightman Pool on Saturday afternoon.
The MSU men improved to 8-3 overall as they downed the Pioneers, 125-96. Junior

JOHN ADAMS each won two individual events and then comprised three-fourths of a winning relay squad. Meanwhile the Red Hawk women upped their record to 7-3 with a 100-91 triumph over the Lady Pioneers. Senior

KRISTINE BATES each recorded three wins.
Both teams have won three straight dual meets.
Abdelaal, who swam the anchor leg, helped the 400 medley realy team to victory as Montclair posted a time of 3:51.84. He would go on to win the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.83 and the 100 freestyle (50.58). Miller, the third leg on the winning relay team, won the 200 freestyle (1:50.30) and later added 200 fly (2:13.44) to his afternoon. Adams, the leadoff leg, registered wins in the 200 IM (2:06.75) and the 200 back (2:03.26). Drew Decagna, the fourth member of the relay team, won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:21.70.
RYAN GORSKY was a double winner as he took first in the 1000 freestyle (10:52.16) and swam the second leg of the winning 400 freestyle relay. Gorsky was joined on the team by

MATT GUIDI and Jeff Cappilla.
Bates took first in the 50 and 100 freestyles with time of 25.69 and 56.73, respectively. She then swam the final leg on the winning 400 freestyle relay. Richardi, who was the third leg of the relay, capture both distance freestyles – the 500 (5:46.93) and the 1000 (11:57.44). The duo teamed with
LINDSEY NEWMAN and
KAITLIN MUCHLER to win the 400 relay at 3:53.04.
JESSICA GUTH won the 200 individual medley (2:24.31) and
KIM CORREDOR finished first in the 200 fly (2:24.56).
The Red Hawks return to action on Tuesday, January 24 as they host Drew University at the Panzer Pool at 5:00 pm.
