Montclair, NJ (1/24/06) – The Montclair State men's and women's swimming and diving teams closed out their home schedule on Tuesday as the Red Hawks swept Drew University at the Panzer Pool on Tuesday evening.
Each team posted their fourth straight victories as the Red Hawk men (9-3) topped the Rangers, 42-15 while the MSU women (8-3) won 115-48 as
KATIE CURRAN was a triple-winner.
Tim Chambrovich was a double-winner for MSU as he won the 200 individual medley (2:10.36) and the 200 fly (1:34.44).
JEFF MCTERNEN was victorious in the 50 freestyle (23.51) and
MATT GUIDI took first in the 200 backstroke (2:10.02).
JOHN ADAMS won the 100 freestyle with a time of 50.14 while
RICKY MILLER won 200 freestyle (1:51.29). Adams and Miller were part of the 200 freestyle relay team (1:32.17) along with Guidi and
MOHAMED ABDELAAL.
Curran won the two distance freestyle events taking the 500 in a time of 5:4.80 and the 1000 in 12:29.95. She also captured the 200 individual medley (2:34.05).
LINDSEY NEWMAN and
KRISTINE BATES each won two individual events and later helped the 200 medley relay team to a victory (2:03.70). Newman took first in the 50 freestyle a (26.49) and 200 back (2:20.55) with Bates adding wins in the 100 free (57.51) and 200 free (2:06.47).
Montclair State closes out its dual meet schedule on Saturday, January 28 as they travel to Rowan University for a 1:00 pm men's and women's meet.
