Ewing, NJ (10/28/06) – The Montclair State men's and women's swimming suffered their first losses of the season as the Red Hawks dropped a dual meet with perennial Division III power The College of New Jersey on Friday evening.
The men fell to the Lions, 131-89 while the women's squad dropped a 161-70 decision to TCNJ. Both teams are now 2-1 on the new season.
TCNJ's junior Stefanie Rashti (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) was a double winner for the Lions as she won the 200 freestyle in 2:04.97 and the 200 butterfly in 2:17.80. Another double winner was Lion rookie Stephanie Seto (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) as she captured the 500 freestyle in 5:34.09 and the 1000 freestyle in 11:30.21.
Junior Ava Kiss (North Brunswick, NJ/Stuart Country Day) took home first place for the Lions in the 200 individual medley (2:16.48) and the 100 freestyle (55.44), and was also part of the Lions' first place 400 medley relay team that won the first event of the meet in 4:13.78. Joining Kiss on the relay were junior Christine Marino (Scotch Plains, NJ/Mount Saint Mary's Academy), sophomore Emily Reichard (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Regional), and the last swimmer on the relay, sophomore Brittany Collyer (Forked River, NJ/Lacey Township).

On the men's side sophomore Ted Yoa (Ocean City, NJ/St. Augustine) was a double winner for TCNJ taking home first place in the 200 breaststroke in 2:17.59 as well as the 200 individual medley (2:05.67). He was also part of TCNJ's first place 400 medley relay team that posted a time of 3:40.81 to open the meet. Teaming on the relay with Yoa was sophomore Tom Nawrot (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick), junior Josh Forsman (Jackson, NJ/Jackson
Memorial), and junior John Altobelli (Northfield, NJ/Mainland Regional). Nawrot won the 100 freestyle in 49.28, while sophomore Mike Heaney (Voorhees, NJ/Bishop Eustace) won the 1000 freestyle in 10:33.97. Sophomore Mike Molloy (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East) won two events as he posted a time of 1:47.59 in the 200 freestyle and a time of 2:02.71 in the 200 backstroke.
Sophomore diver Greg Lloyd (Ringoes, NJ/Hunterdon Central) picked up two first place finishes in the two one meter event competition as he posted a score of 164.48 and a 314.85.
Senior
MOHAMED ABDELAAL (Bayonne, NJ/Bayonne) broke up the Lions' sweep on the night as he won the 50 freestyle in 22.29, while rookie diver
MARC SEEMON (North Plainfield, NJ/Union Catholic) posted pair of seconds in the one meter events with his scores of 114.30 and 165.07, respectively.
