Elizabethtown, PA (11/12/06) – Elizabethtown College defeated Montclair State University 1-0 in overtime in the second round of the NCAA Division III tournament at home Sunday to improve to 14-4-3 overall and advance to next weekend's NCAA regionals at a time and place to be determined.
Montclair State's season ended with a 13-7-3 overall record.
The deciding goal came at 96:56 when Blue Jay defender Gretchen Geiger (Pilesgrove, NJ/Woodstown) scored her second goal of the season off assists by Jenna Russo (Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) and Brooke Dotterer (Spring City, PA/Owen J. Roberts). The goal was scored during Elizabethtown's second corner kick in the overtime period, taken by Jamie Alvanitakis (Landenberg, PA/Avon Grove). Alvanitakis' corner sailed to Russo, who fired a cross pass that found Dotterer diving in front of the open right corner of the net, and Geiger redirected the ball into the goal.

KRISTIN KUHMANN (Beachwood, NJ/Toms River South) during regulation time. Kuhmann made 11 saves over the course of the game.
The Blue Jays also held a 9-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Elizabethtown goaltender Dawn Mellen (Warren, NJ/Watchung Hills Regional) made two saves in her eighth shutout of the season.
