Montclair, NJ (9/4/06) - The Montclair State University men's soccer team scored two second-half goals on its way to a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Western Connecticut State University 's in a non-league match at Westside Athletic Complex Wednesday night.
JOHN ESPOSITO ( Hillside , NJ/ Hillside) netted the game-winner off a throw in by
JOSEPH CULLEN ( Clementon , NJ/ Highland ) with 2:46 remaining in regulation to lift the Red Hawks to victory. The long throw in from the left side went untouched until Esposito deposited it into the back left corner of the goal.
BILL ANTHES ( Cranford , NJ / Cranford ) scored his second goal of the season just 41 second into the second half. His header in the middle of the goal mouth beat WestConn goalie Dan Michalowski ( Bristol , CT ) .
Keith Simone ( North Salem , NY ) put the Colonials on the scoreboard with his second goal of the season. His shot came from 35 yards out off a free kick. Matthew Mitchell ( Norwalk , CT ) and Steven Carneiro ( Danbury , CT ) each touched the ball before Simone's blast just under the cross bar.  Â
NICK MELE ( Delran , NJ / Delran ) earned the victory in goal for Montclair State after making just one save. Michalowski made two saves for the Colonials.  Â
The Red Hawks return to action this weekend as they will play two games in Pennsylvania. MSU will take on Wilkes University on Saturday, September 9 at 1:00 pm before heading to College Misericordia on Sunday, September 10 for a 1:00 pm start.
